A standard garment can often take from 15 days to a month and sometimes up to six months to create.

Banarasi brocades, though traditionally made with pure silk, are now made with different fabrics and include four broad categories - Katan made with pure silk, Kora made with organza, georgette, and shattir. The brocades are then embroidered with delicate silver and golden threads in a style known as ‘Zari’ work.
