The Beginning…
Mrunalini Rao’s career started after her undergraduate studies at NIFT, where JJ Valaya awarded her the 'best academic performer' award. The attention she drew with her detail-oriented mind and fresh design ideas soon earned her the reputation of a designer to look out for. She focused on making designs that combine classic elegance and modern style, eventually launching her label and becoming a well-known personality in the fashion world.

Urī by Mrunalini Rao is the designer’s commitment to the lives of my makers, the sustenance of craft and livelihoods, sustainability and ethical fashion. Designed around conscious choices, each piece in the pret line is meticulously crafted with no waste production, using biodegradable materials and ethical employment. The collection, designed thinking about muses of all ages, features a blend of soft colours and deeper hues, with effortless patterns that make a subtle yet powerful statement. Urī’s ethos is rooted in creating more jobs and revitalising the artisans, weavers, and embroiderers. Each handcrafted product tells a unique story, bearing a human touch that unites and includes society.
