“Academically, I was an interior designer but being a housewife for so long, I couldn’t connect to being an interior designer professionally. I always had an eye for beautiful things. My mother had a small boutique with 2 tailors. So I just thought of trying my hand at this,” shares Sarika.

How did your career begin?
“My brother made my first bags, visiting cards, bill book, etc. I kept my brand’s name Pink City as I used to travel to Jaipur every year. I loved everything vibrant and traditional,” says Sarika. She further adds that her first exhibition was hit and gave her strength to go further. Her husband got all her accounts managed and her children helped her with social media posts.

Local artisans only work on pure fabrics, intricate embroidery and classic finishing.
