The Beginning…
From a young age, Ayush was known as a mischievous kid, always hustling since his school days. The entrepreneurial spirit emerged early, making the first 1000 rupees by selling a Tazo's collection to his batchmates in the 6th standard for fun. At 18, Ayush ventured into the business world, launching his first company, "Flirtease," in 2008, when the term "startup" was uncommon. Later, in 2015, he expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio by introducing the footwear brand Modello Domani.
Modello Domani as a label
The brand Modello Domani, translating to 'Style of Tomorrow' in Italian, originated from the concept that emerged in 2010 when ZARA inaugurated its first store in New Delhi, India. During that period, someone in Akshay’s extended family was manufacturing Loafers for ZARA. Capitalising on this opportunity, he delved into the market, reverse-engineering the business model. In 2015, equipped with no formal background in fashion but an eye for designs and economics, Akshay Dewan ventured into the footwear market. The brand's overarching goal is to render designer luxury more affordable and accessible, aiming to democratise high-end fashion.
