How did your career begin?
Worked with various designers from the fashion industry before launching her label and since then it’s been no looking back.She has had the opportunity to style celebrities,Indian actresses Sonali Bendre and Shefali Shah. Author and actress Lisa Ray, Author and columnist Shunali Khullar Shroff, South Indian actresses Regina Cassandra and Bindu Madhavi to name a few.
A Brief introduction about your brand/label?
Over the time the label has established our existence in both Pret wear and Festive wear. The brand uses pure fabrics and believes in maximum use of hand craftsmanship in our ensembles. With every new collection a new craft technique is explored keeping the craft alive.The name India was added to the label namely ‘Kanikasharma_india’ because the brand wanted to retain the authenticity of India and give recognition to various artisans. A conscious effort of adding sustainability as a continuous practice in our clothing and encouraging our valuable weavers. The design philosophy offers an exquisite experience of the era gone by with Modern intricacies and innovative silhouettes. Every garment at ‘Kanika Sharma’ defines a story of its own.
