The beginning…
Pooja started out in the industry by working with Anamika Khanna. She handled her trousseau department amongst other things. Eventually, she launched her own fashion label Door of Maai.
Door of Maai
Established in December 2015, Door of Maai is an urban and premium ready-to-wear design label with a classic yet eclectic sense of style transcending seasonal changes. It has built its name as an ecologically and socially conscious design house owing to the design practices that they follow. Each collection has a particular type of environment-friendly practice built into its making; this could either be the use of GOTS certified organic cotton or handloom (khadi) textiles or even export surplus fabrics. Up-cycling and recycling to make one-off pieces and reduce fabric left-overs are also often incorporated as design processes. The brand believes in capsule collections and small batches of production to refrain from overproduction and waste.
