“My family was always into textiles and Fashion was my most natural calling, so much so that I even called my pets polka and gingham. I graduated from NIFT Delhi with the “Most Creative Collection” award, built up all this experience in the industry, worked with some big names in fashion -Rohit Bal, Manish Arora and Shyamal & Bhumika; honed my technical expertise, enhanced my theoretical understanding and adapted my aesthetics to cater to a wider audience”, says Esha, founder and designer of label Chambray & Co.

The beginning…
After gaining exposure and enjoying it thoroughly, Esha felt ready and confident about launching her label. She felt she could no longer contribute to hyper production and mindless consumption that was prevalent and wanted to do things differently. So, this is how Chambray & Co. was born out of a passion for contemporary expression of Indian traditions and from an intuitive perspective on ‘artisanal clothing’.

Chambray & Co. strongly believers in circular design and working with communities, exploring wardrobe staples, through the pursuit of innovation alongside the use of wasted resources from the industry; modern tailoring that includes a respect for the provenance of craft, an awareness of individual purpose and a responsibility towards fair business practices. The mission has been to encourage responsible consumption by disrupting existing supply chains and creating an alternate closed loop system of procurement, production and promotion.
