Gopi Vaid & Arnaz Soonawalla
Gopi, co-founder of label Gopi Vaid was born in Ahmedabad in a family with a renowned background in textile making. She grew up in an environment that was very different from other children’s, and her toys would be hand blocks and pigments. This is where she learnt to appreciate Indian arts & crafts. Gopi met fellow designer and co-founder Arnaz Soonawalla in school. The duo reconnected with each other after their weddings and Arnaz came to know that Gopi had been harbouring a dream of launching her own label someday.
